Wegovy 0.25mg Injection

Active Ingredient: – Semaglutide

Warning & Cautions (Exclusions):

Must not be administered under the age 18yrs or over 75yrs
BMI below 27kg/m2
Patients with an initial BMI of 27 to 30 kg/m2 and no weight-related co-morbidity
Pregnant women
Breast-feeding
Severe hepatic impairment
Severe renal impairment
Congestive heart failure
Obesity secondary to endocrinological, eating disorders or treatment with medicinal products that may cause weight gain
History of pancreatitis
Diabetic retinopathy
If you are taking certain medications such as insulins (please consult with a healthcare professional)

Dose:

The starting dose will be at 0.25mg once-weekly and will be increased every 4 weeks to a maximum 2.4mg once-weekly dose. This is done over a 16-weeks period to improve gastro-intestinal tolerability. If escalation to the next dose step is not tolerate for two consecutive weeks, then you must consider discontinuing the treatment.

Please see below the table which illustrates the treatment regimen for Wegovy;

Weeks 13 to 16 1.7mg
Maintenance dose 2.4mg

You can continue at the maintenance dose of 2.4mg once weekly if you have lost at least 5% of your original body weight after 6 months.

Missed dose:

If you missed your dose, then you must administer as soon as you remember and within 5 days after the missed dose. If, however, the 5 days period has passed, then you must skip that dose and carry on as normal at your next dose. If you continue to miss more doses, then reducing to the starting dose for re-initiation must be considered.

Allergens

Hypersensitivity to Semaglutide.

Storage

Store in a refrigerator (2° C to 8° C). Keep away from cooling element.  DO NOT FREEZE. After first use; store below 30° C or, preferably, in a refrigerator (2° C to 8° C).
