Pharmacy OTC Medicines: Safety, Delivery & Consent Policy

Chrystalls Connect(via Chrystalls Pharmacy IG8 0HL) is committed to providing safe, responsible, and regulated access to Pharmacy OTC (P) medicines through our Pharmacy OTC Medicines section. By placing an order, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms, which are required under UK pharmacy law to ensure medicines are supplied safely and appropriately.

Understanding Medicine Categories (GSL, P, and POM)

Pharmacy (P) Medicines: These medicines are marked with a “P” sometimes in a square box. They require pharmacist supervision before supply. Screening questions must be answered regarding symptoms, age, intended user, and suitability. These medicines cannot be freely purchased from supermarket shelves. GSL (General Sale List): These medicines are low-risk products that can be sold in supermarkets or convenience stores. They usually come in small pack sizes and do not require pharmacist screening. POM (Prescription Only Medicines): These medicines require a legally valid prescription issued by a doctor, pharmacist prescriber, or nurse prescriber. POM medicines cannot be sold through our OTC service under any circumstances.

Clinical Screening and Pharmacist Approval

All Pharmacy (P) medicine orders undergo a review by a UK-registered pharmacist. Screening questions must be answered honestly and accurately. Incorrect or misleading answers will result in cancellation without refund. Pharmacists must follow strict clinical gateway criteria and cannot override them.

Who Can Order Pharmacy OTC Medicines?

By ordering, you confirm that you are a UK resident aged 16 or over, capable of making healthcare decisions, and that you understand how to use the medication safely. If ordering for someone else, you confirm that you have their consent and accurate knowledge of their symptoms and medical history.

Ordering for Someone Else

If you are placing an order on behalf of another person, you must provide accurate information about their symptoms and ensure they read the patient information leaflet before use. Responsibility for the medicine transfers to you once the order is delivered.

Virtual Checks (If Required)

Our pharmacists may request a WhatsApp video or voice consultation to verify suitability or clarify screening answers. You must provide a valid mobile number at checkout. Orders may be paused until checks are completed.

Delivery Policy

We offer same-day delivery within 1.5 miles of IG8 0HL and Royal Mail 48-Hour Signed Delivery for all other UK orders. As Pharmacy (P) medicines require supervised delivery, all deliveries must be signed for. Medicines cannot be left unattended or in a “safe place.” You may nominate a trusted neighbour or workplace—please leave clear instructions at checkout. If no authorised person is available to sign, the package will be returned to the pharmacy. Delivery fees are non-refundable as the driver has already completed the journey.

No Letterbox Delivery

Letterbox delivery is not available. These items must be received in person with a signature. Medicines cannot be posted through a letterbox or left unattended. If no one is available to sign, the order will be returned and the delivery fee will not be refunded.

Responsibility After Delivery

Once a package has been signed for, responsibility transfers to you or your nominated recipient. Chrystalls Connect is not liable for loss, misuse, incorrect storage, or access by children or pets after delivery. If an item arrives damaged, you must notify us immediately on the same day so we can investigate and arrange a replacement if appropriate.

Why We Charge a Delivery Fee

Our same-day service uses dedicated drivers who are paid per delivery rather than a salary. The £2.99 delivery fee covers the driver’s cost per package and ensures fast and reliable medical delivery. The fee is kept as low as possible and reflects the true cost of regulated pharmacy delivery.

Privacy and Security

We will never request card or banking details outside our secure checkout. If you receive suspicious communication, contact us immediately. To opt out of marketing messages, contact us with the subject “NO PROMOS.”

Summary of Agreement

By placing an order, you confirm that you understand the differences between GSL, P, and POM medicines; you meet legal requirements for purchasing Pharmacy (P) medicines; your screening answers are truthful; you accept responsibility for correct medicine use; you understand that delivery requires a signature; and you agree to our non-refund policy for failed deliveries.
